Top-level architecture is shown below:

There are Sources and Sales Channels.

The Source

The Source is usually a Supplier or any other company that provides you a data feed with product data.

This feed can be usually one of the following formats:

  • CSV
  • XLS/XLSX
  • XML
  • Plain text
  • API / EDI

The feed is usually accessible by link or FTP. Sometimes, it's a file that the supplier sends you on a daily basis.

There are different possible formats and ways to access the feeds depending on the supplier. We support all possible options and will quickly add support for some new format as soon as it appears.

The Sales Channel

The Sales Channel can be one of the following:

  • A CMS-based e-commerce store. The most popular e-commerce CMS are Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, Prestashop, BigCommerce, and others. You can have more than one store (sales channel). Let's say you have one global store where you sell all your products and 3 different mono-brand stores that you use to sell some popular brands.
  • A marketplace store. Apart from having your own CMS-based e-commerce store, you most probably want to offer your products on Amazon, eBay, Etsy, and other marketplaces. Each of your marketplace stores is also a Sales Channel.
  • Marketing tools. The most common example is Google Shopping. You can also set it up as a Sales Channel
